I don’t think it’s fair to criticize the grid-based movement in Might and Magic X Legacy. The game is obviously trying to evoke nostalgia and gameplay from a simpler time. It's not trying to be Skyrim or whatever, nor is it trying to evolve Might and Magic from 8 and 9. This is definitely a throwback release. I think if you’re going to review games, you should take them on their own terms. At least be charitable enough to acknowledge this is what the developers were going for and why they made these decisions. You don’t have to like them, but, frankly, something like this is not good or bad as it’s very much up to personal taste. I played Might and Magic 3 through 8 as a kid, and grid-based movement is totally fine. I also really enjoyed the Etrian Odyssey games as well, and they didn’t get points knocked off for grid-based movement either. Take games on their own terms.

I just picked this game up on a steam sale. Ive been a life long Warhammer fan and I am JUST now hearing about this game. It looks like a blast. Simple load in and play the game setup and thats great to me.

This game on the PSN tricked me! I thought it was a Sam and Max style Point and Click game! Beat Cop hurts my brain! I love puzzle games. I am a HUGE Professor Layton fan! And enjoy the challenging puzzles in those games! But the PSN's description for BC made be think it was a Sam and Max point and Click!

The horrible and unneccessarily over-the-top racism is jarring in this game, and the writing is sub-par at best: soulless and sophomoric wit won't substitute for substance.

Mordheim is still a great game as of 2024. It has some minor issues, but it's gameplay cycle is very satisfying. The AI can be deadly, the procedurally generated maps are constantly changing so the similar missions never feel the same, and the RPG element is pretty deep once you are further in. The DLC adding two more factions and extra units helps with variety too. Incredibly underrated turn based game and incredibly underrated Warhammer game.

Dynasty warriors don't have ip Rights to most of their characters. Their characters are based off of Chinese Legends and folklore

truly enjoyed this game when i got it, but it was my introduction to games like this and after advancing my game library, i can’t go back to it lol

Love how you blame the sluggish controls on the controller, when there are tons of Souls-likes on console/controller and actually the entire genre started on and is dominated on controllers/consoles.

Well interesting review one thing that was left out was the fact you can put in your own music. Myself I threw in some Alice Cooper and some heavy metal and some rockabilly music folders. The end result space got a lot more exciting pretty fast at least for me. Heard some country tunes I had heard in years and then had some heavy metal blare as I tore through a few enemy fleets. Someday if I keep grinding on the game long enough maybe I'll get one of those dreadnoughts. My only complaint about the game is it can get it repaired oven some sections in the side missions don't really add much. We never really get to make or know much about our respective Captain except we gave them a name. Also while you can hire mercenary fighter pilot you don't really have any crew. It's always made me wonder if you're the only living person on the vessel and the rest is just automated. I personally give this game 3 out of 5 stars. Despite limitations shortcomings and mistakes I do believe the game does get things right and when it does there usually exceptionally well done. Most of the shortcomings I feel or story-wise and in the sense that we never get to really know much about the universe setting or characters except for a little short vertical slice. So maybe that's only because I'm around halfway into the story campaign and I don't feel like progressing further until I get better ship. Until you get level 5 or level 6 gear along the game can turn into a heavy slugging match where you're going to lose pretty easily unless you run and even that becomes a challenge.
